10:40 a.m. | The UNC System and the UNC Campus – What’s the difference?
We often hear the name University of North Carolina used to refer to both our campus and our university system. The relationship can be a bit confusing for the public, and sometimes, even for alumni and friends close to the University. We have invited Ferrel Guillory, director and founder of the Program on Public Life and professor of the Practice, as well as Andrew Moretz, vice president of State Government Relations for the University System, to participate in a conversation with our BOV chair and vice chair. We will answer your questions about responsibilities and relationships. Ferrel Guillory, Director and Founder, Program on Public Life, Professor of the Practice |

Fifty years ago, a group of Carolina students sought to introduce the college experience to outstanding, high school students of diverse backgrounds. The result was Project Uplift, a high energy, three-day session that includes classroom experiences, sessions on financial aid and a taste of college culture. We will hear from representation from the office for Diversity and Inclusion as well as students who came through the Project Uplift program while in high school, or have worked as counselors. Gretchen Bellamy, Senior Director Education, Operations and Initiatives |
